DAY 108 - PUB FOOD

Our first night on the road wemade it to Clermont and spent an interesting night in a cabin at tha caravan park. We knew it was a klassy place when the beadspread was a faux fir 'Jim Beam' special.

The drive down through the middle of Queensland was very interesting and we saw a lot of country. We breakfasted in Emerald, passed through Springsure and Rolleston and making it to Injune for a toasted sandwich at the pub for lunch.

We passed through Roma on our way to St George for the evening on the banks of the Balonne River. Queensland is a big place, we have driven for 20 hours, covered 1,650 kilometers in roughly a straight line south since leaving Cairns and we are still 100km from the state border.

Tomorrow we head into New South Wales.

DAY 107 - THE "GREAT INLAND WAY"

We packed up Jiminy and are heading south for Sydney. We thought we would go the inland way, and have discovered it is now a tourist route with a name, now called the "great inland way."

http://www.greatinlandway.org.au/

It is about 2,600 kilometers door to door so it will take a few days.

The first day we made it to Clermont in the Central Highlands of Queensland. It was a longish 850 km down through Townsville, Charters Towers.

Jiminy appears to be running well so not expecting car problems on the way (touch wood).

DAY 105 - JIMINY IS FINALLY READY

Today we picked up Jiminy with it's new transmission and new airbag sensor which delayed things.

It was a relief to find all our camping gear still in Jiminy as he was out of sight for over a month and went through more car repairers than desired.

The new transmission appears to work, but is somewhat clunky when engaging gear and slow to engage when it doesn't clunk. We will see if it needs to bed in on our iminent drive south.

DAY 98 - BACK TO CAIRNS FOR THE THIRD TIME

We flew back to Cairns to await the call to collect Jiminy. It has been a frustrating experience waiting for Jiminy as it is now over a month since we handed him to the insurer in Weipa.

DAY 88 - GIRL'S NIGHT OUT...

It's been great to be back in Brisbane, as we have had the chance to catch up with old friends (although we haven't been gone that long!!).

The girls and I had the best night out last Friday night, spending the whole time catching up on lost goss & sipping plenty of champagne....
